Mysuru! A one day trip is a bit difficult

Riding to Mysuru from Bangaluru can be hell or heaven. Why? The road to Mysuru is one of the more crowded roads, especially during the weekends since it connects to the state of Kerala and has quite a few tourist spots on that route.

If planning a trip, then the better option would be through Kanakapura which is less crowded. But the parts of the road is under maintenance at the time of the blog.

Places to Visit in Mysuru

  • Mysore Palace
  • Chamundi Hills
  • KRS Dam
  • Brindavan Gardens
  • Karanji Lake

There are a lot more places to visit in or around Mysuru. But for a day this would be enough or even more!

Our Journey

As you would have understood by now the route we took was through Kanakapura and to Mysuru in the morning. We stop for some awesome breakfast on the way.

Upon reaching Mysuru we headed to Mysore Palace. Dumbfound by the size of the Palace we decided not to take too long since we had other places to visit in our list. The palace is a great place for photography and a place to spend with family. So hence we got only a selfie.

Next stop took us to Chamundi Hills.  The best part about the place is the ride. Wish I could record the ride. But be warned it can get a bit crowded at the top since Sri Chamundiswari Temple is situated on the top you will find both tourist and worshippers on top. Great to get some landscape photos.

By this time the heat started getting to us and we decided to head off to Karanji Lake. But sadly this lake was dried up. So we decided to WhatsApp Image 2019-03-24 at 8.55.50 PM-20190328.jpgfind a spot to rest and eat. Luckily for us, we were near Mall of Mysuru.

After the rest and filling ourselves up, we headed in search of KRS Dam and Brindavan garden. This was the best part! Beautiful gardens and a view of the reservoir that can never be felt in the City. The great part of this place was that we could do a bit of off-roading.
