This adventure is one where we (my friend and myself) decided that we ride to Kolar. A small town east of Bangaluru. I have been here before and have climbed to Antharagange Caves, a good trekking spot in the town. Other than that there are a few temples.
But with no plan in mind and no intention of climbing, we decided to just explore the place a bit more. We first decided to ride to Kolar Gold Feilds(aka KGF) which is another 20 to 30 Km from Kolar. Which leads through some quite interesting and really nice roads.
There are quite a few restaurants around Kolar, but there isn’t anything much in the City except for a few small shops. Heading to KGF we found something that seemed really interesting and we decided to check it out.
Now, what did we find you say? The birthplace of Nawab Hider Ali Khan the Father of Tipu Sultan. This is not a popular place as we were the only once there and that was the best part of the find!
Parking our bikes out we had to climb a flight of stairs between two rock where one would find a building to the right and a small temple to the left. Further ahead from the temple you would find a small archway which would lead to a small patch of land with seats and a cornered off area with a stone with the engraving saying “Near this spot was born NAWAB HAIDER ALI KHAD 1720 – 1782”.
Happy with our find, we decided to take a break, get some pics and head back home as it was getting hotter. A great find I would say!
